A second hut

Scouting sustainably, in our own buildings.

We have provisional planning approval for a second hut, so the Group can run sustainably from buildings we own and improve, instead of relying on space we have to rent week to week.

Why we are building

The 63rd has grown. Our current Scout HQ is at capacity for the sections we run there, and to stay running for everyone we currently support we have had to use space we rent from others. That is expensive, it is not always available when we need it, and it leaves us in someone else's plans.

A second building of our own changes that. It lets us run our weekly programme in spaces we control, plan camps and meetings around our own calendar, and stop pouring volunteer-raised funds into rent.

A community asset, made better

The new building is not just for Scouts. Like our current hut, it will be available for community use outside section nights, supporting other groups in North Bristol that need affordable, well-run space.

Investing in the building means investing in something the wider community can use for the next generation, alongside the young people of the 63rd.

Where we are

Project status, milestones and headline timeline to be added by the project lead before launch.

How to support

The build is funded by a mix of grants, community fundraising and donations. Every donation, large or small, is matched against named building costs so you can see what your contribution paid for.

Donate to the new building

Donation link is a placeholder pending Trustee sign-off on the donation platform. Likely options: a CAF Donate page, JustGiving, or Stewardship.
