Scouts
Independence, skills and proper expeditions. Kayaking, climbing, hikes, camps and leading younger members.
What a typical evening looks like
Scout Troop nights run for two hours and feel different again. Patrols (small teams) run more of the show. Programme moves between practical skills, planning a camp or expedition, and getting outside whenever the weather and light allow. Trip and camp weekends pepper the calendar.
What Scouts do
- Camps in the UK and trips further afield
- Watersports, climbing, expeditions on foot and on bike
- Real responsibility, from cooking dinner for the patrol to leading a hike
- Work towards the Chief Scout's Gold Award, the highest in the section
Meeting time and place
Meeting time and venue to be confirmed by the Scout Leader. To be added before launch.

What comes next
At 14, young people move on to Explorer Scouts, run at District level rather than by individual Groups. We will help your Scout find an Explorer Unit when the time comes.
Joining Scouts
Scouts runs from age 10. Spaces vary by year. Add your child to the waiting list to hear from us when a place comes up.
